So. Here we are, with five days remaining till we're SCHEDULED to be home. So where do they send us?

Kentucky. Which once again, assures that we will get home at least one day late. There's a chance we could get home Saturday IF everything goes perfectly. And we all know how often that happens.

The mate has very limited hours to work today and tomorrow, a total of 9.75 per DOT rules. So what has our company attempted to do...THREE TIMES IN A ROW?

Put us on an expedited FedEx load. *facepalms*

WTF!

With one week to go till vacation(hoofarkinray!), we've been give load after load it seems of sub 1000 mile runs, all with less time than a normal trip plan would dictate that we need. Okay. Gah. THIS is what it took to get home this time. Start off in Gary IN. Okay, not so bad, we've gotten loads home from there before. Wait. What? Our next load has us picking up in Michigan, and taking it to...Iowa? What's this? At least it's westbound. All righty. Deliver that load. The hands seem's around 90-95% recovered now. It feels like the wrist muscles themselves are working just fine, however I still don't quite have full flexion in bending my hand back with my fingers extended. If I leave them curled it seems fine. Gods last night was scary. Bad enough that I had thick fog, slick, narrow, curvy roads all through PA WITH construction to effectively give me zero room for error. Nearly missed a turn down a one way street, but recovered JUST in time. I'm so glad this day's over. Now it's back to our lovely high value loads. Bleah.

Oh yah. At least we're going to WA now. So that means it's our load home after dropping what we just picked up at Gary. Whoohoo.

Thanks guys. So we're supposed to be home Tuesday. So why the heck are we heading to Michigan? Therefore assuring we are at least one day late, more likely two to get home. Arrrrrrrgh.

To be more precise, around 7pm on Christmas Eve. Had our tenant pick up any packages left at the UPS store so they'd at least BE there when we got home. However one came in late, and a fairly important one at that, my present to the mate. Oy ( Read more... )
